Panel Vacancies

We currently have one vacancy for a local person to serve on the Panel, which makes decisions about awards from the Barr Assel Valley Community Fund. You don’t need any special skills (training will be given), just a commitment to securing the best future for your community.

Applicants should be 16 or over and live within the Barr Community Council area. The Panel meets around four times a year, in the evenings.

If you are interested, please just send a short email or letter telling us about yourself and why you would like to be involved to or Barr Assel Valley Community Fund, c/o Foundation Scotland, The Kiosk, Gatehouse of Fleet, Dumfries & Galloway, DG7 2HP. We will then forward this on to the Panel for their consideration.

About the Panel

The Barr Assel Valley Community Fund Advisory Panel makes recommendations on awards from the Fund. The Panel is governed by a Terms of Reference that has been developed and agreed between community representatives and Foundation Scotland and is reviewed from time to time.

The Panel is made up of people who live in the area and comprises members appointed by Barr Community Council and through a process of public advertising and recruitment. Opportunities to become a Panel member are openly advertised when these arise, both locally and on this webpage.

The Panel meets four times per year to make decisions on applications to the fund.
