Al Maktoum  
Community Grants


Al Maktoum Community College has worked with Foundation Scotland since 2009 to support the communities in and Logoaround Dundee. Since then the fund has distributed over £150,000 through our express grants programme.  

The fund has helped groups working across various sectors, including resident' associations, schools, sports clubs youth groups, senior citizens organisations and more.



The programme will consider grants up to £2,000 for projects that cover at least one of the following priorities:

  • learning and education

  • mulitculturalism, interfaith and cultural engagement

  • local schools, colleges and universities
  • youth development

  • opportunities for those with a physical or learning disabilities

  • helping people overcome challenges in the face of adversity


To support registered charities and consituted community groups that are based in Dundee, Angus, Perth and Kinross, North East Fife (Cupar and St Andrews).  Please note that where demand exceeds available funds, priority will be given to projects in Dundee


  • Individuals

  • Salary costs (including sessional staff)

  • Energy costs

  • Advancement of religion or politics (including requests to support the core activities of religious or political groups) 

  • The repayment of loans or payment of debts

  • Retrospective funding i.e. costs already incurred/activities already taken place

  • Trips abroad 

  • Purchase of second hand vehicles

  • Payments towards areas generally understood to be the responsibility of statutory authorities 

  • Groups who will then distribute the funds as grants or bursaries 

  • General fundraising appeals or activities

  • Applications that are for the sole benefit to flora and fauna. 

  • Projects which do not benefit people in Dundee, Angus, Perth and Kinross, North East Fife
