Transformation and Growth Programme

Background

Transformation and Growth is capacity building grants programme to help registered charities and incorporated organisations serving those at risk of homelessness, to increase their organisational capacity in order to support people:

“address local housing and homelessness issues by providing grassroots organisations with development grants to build sustainability, develop ideas and deploy innovative solutions; and increase these organisations’ capacity and resilience so they are more sustainable with greater capacity to support people in vulnerable housing situations.”

Aim

Grants will be offered between £10,000 - £25,000 for a duration of up to two years.
Whilst the following is not an exhaustive list, we would expect to see some clear impact in at least one of these areas as a result of the funding:

  • A better understanding of your business model and finances;

  • A better understanding of how to access and/or develop other sources of income e.g. grants, contracts, trading etc;

  • An expanded and/or more efficient and effective service offer;

  • Leadership and governance;

  • Improved management systems;

  • Improved impact measurement systems;

  • Better strategic planning;

  • Building collaborative approaches;

  • Strengthening networks.

Essentially, the aim of the programme is to unlock the potential in organisations to build sustainability, develop ideas and deploy innovative solutions to better tackling the housing crisis.

The grants will not provide funding for direct delivery of services, nor core funding, except where it covers a relevant member of staff’s time to engage in these organisational development activities.
