Community Benefit Fund


The Westfield Cardenden Community Fund is a charitable fund to support community groups that benefit residents living in the Cardenden Community Council area. The Fund is provided by Ventient Energy who own and operate the Westfield Wind Farm. 

Making A Difference

The Fund supports constituted community groups and charities working in the Cardenden Community Council area that provide activities or services which promote community spirit and bring people together, enhance quality of life and promote people’s well-being and foster a vibrant, sustainable community. 

The Cardenden Community Fund will be hosting their next Community Craic! event on Tuesday November 20th 2018, 6.30pm - 8.30pm at the Bowhill Community Centre.

This follows the first, very successful Community Craic! event hosted in November 2017 and May 2018. This event is an opportunity for local groups to apply for up to £500 and for local people to take part in the decisions for funding, voted for on the night.  Tuesday May 8th 2018, the Panel hosted their second Community Craic!, a participatory grant-making event. The next Community Craic event is on Tuesday November 20th 2018, 6.30pm - 8.30pm at the Bowhill Community Centre.

The deadline for applying to the Community Craic is Friday 26th October 2018. Please see above more more information on how to apply.

The fund is currently open for applications of up to £500 for the Cardenden Community Craic! event.

Bowhill Retirement Group

  • To contribute to the cost of the 2018 Christmas party.
  • Amount awarded: £500

Denend Primary School Parent Council

  • To purchase playground equipment for the school to enhance the children's outdoor learning experience.
  • Amount awarded: £500

Tuesday Leisure Club

  • To purchase an indoor skittles set and to fund a Christmas meal and spring outing for group members.
  • Amount awarded: £300

50+ Leisure and Recreation Group

  • To fund transport for group outings to the VA Museum, Dundee and the Transport Museum, Glasgow.
  • Amount awarded: £400

Dundonald Bluebell Junior Football Club

  • To contribute to the cost of upgrading the group's boiler system.
  • Amount awarded: £500

Cardenden Primary School Gymnastics Club

  • To purchase an airtrack for the club.
  • Amount awarded: £500

4th Fife Cardenden Scout Group

  • To purchase and install a manual roller shutter to provide easy access to the group's tent and equipment store at the Scout Hall.
  • Amount awarded: £400
