CDG Community Fund awards over £75,000 to six local organisations

The Coalburn, Douglas & Glespin (CDG) Community Fund has announced three-year core funding awards totalling £75,660 to six Community Anchor Organisations across the fund area, securing long-term support for vital local groups.

This round introduced a one-off Community Anchor Organisation (CAO) funding stream, awarding three-year grants towards the core running costs of established, community-led organisations that own or manage local assets and play a central role in sustaining community life.

Mary Travers, Community Funds Adviser at Foundation Scotland said:

“This is a new approach for the CDG Fund and will be reviewed going forward. During the process, groups expressed how helpful this funding will prove to be – taking some pressure off – and especially given the reassurance of funding for three years for core costs. They were very grateful for this opportunity provided by the Fund”.
