Panel seeks a Dufftown Decision-maker
There is a vacancy for a volunteer panel member from Dufftown to help make grant funding decisions for the Dorenell Community Benefit Fund. The panel is made up of two representatives from each of the local community associations in Dufftown, Cabrach, Glenlivet and Glenrinnes, and one other local rep from each area, recruited from the wider community.
The panel meets three times per year, with meetings held in the fund area or online. Meetings are held in the evenings, and members can claim travel and other expenses. There is some reading to do in advance of every meeting as Foundation Scotland provides a written assessment of each application. Panel members also get involved in reviewing the fund strategy every three years and having their say on how the fund develops to ensure it continues to meet local priorities. Occasionally, some decisions are made by email in between the funding rounds. Members receive an induction training session and full support from Foundation Scotland throughout the grant-making process.
The panel operates a conflict-of-interest policy, which means that you would not take part in any funding decisions relating to groups that you are directly involved with – so those groups can still apply for funding, but you would not have a say in those discussions.
If you can spare a bit of time to help the fund continue to support groups in your community and would like to chat about the role, please get in touch.
