1996 SCF is born
1997 First grants awarded and started working with Charitable Trusts
1998 First Chief Executive appointed
1999  New Millennium Fund for Scotland launched. Asked companies to commit to a gift of £2000 a year for 5 years. Invested fund of £10,000 to make grants in perpetuity
2001 Supported the Scottish Executive in administering grants totalling just over £2 million to those communities affected by Foot and Mouth
2002 Women's Fund for Scotland launched - dedicated to improving the quality of life of women and girls in Scotland, supporting development, self sufficiency, economic and social equality
2003

Launched a 5 year programme investing £5.45 million in Scottish Communities

2004

Giles Ruck, appointed new CEO

2005 One Book One City launch and launch of Scottish Malawai Appeal
2006 Celebrated 10th Birthday
2007 SCF Events Ltd, created - the trading subsidiary which organised the Caledonian Challenge
2008 1st Philanthropy debate is held.  Launched £3m arts funding prize
2009 OUr first community client, Blackford Community Council, established first community endowment 
2010

£3.3m distributed to Scottish Charities. Ranked number one grant maker in Scotland. Fairshare Trust drew to a close.

Won Third Sector Award for Innovation by Trusts and Foundations.

2011 Awarded £15m endowment from Big Lottery to deliver Jessica Scotland
2012

Established Resilient Scotland to deliver Jessica Scotland Trust Programme.

Rebranded Foundation Scotland.

Foundation Scotland hosts first regional seminar on community benefit funds in Strathpeffer,

 

2013

Appointed delivery partner of Enterprise Ready Fund - to help grow third sector organisations.

Scotch Whisky Action Fund launched in partnership with Scotch Whisky Association

Opens South Scotland Office in response to growing portfolio of work in area.

Produced ground breaking charter to drive good practice in community funding benefit

2015
