About this fund
The Greengairs East Farm Community Benefit supports the communities of Greengairs, Upperton, Longriggend, Caldercruix and Plains. Each community receives an equal share of the annual payment and which totals an index linked annual sum of £180,000.
Foundation Scotland is not involved with the Greengairs arrangement. Tailored arrangements are in place with lead organisations in three of the communities – Upperton, Longriggend and Caldercruix – and who are each responsible for distribution in their communities. For the community of Plains, Foundation Scotland distributes a community fund in partnership with a local Panel.

The Greengairs East Wind Farm Fund is a devolved fund with each community distributing funding in line with community priorities and in response to community need.

Frequently asked questions
-
Why can’t I just apply to Foundation Scotland for a grant from the Greengairs East Wind Farm Community Benefit Fund?
Greengairs East is a devolved fund. This means different arrangements are in place for the different communities that benefit from the fund because that was the preference of the community involved. If you are looking to run an activity or project benefitting the Plains community you can apply directly to Foundation Scotland because Foundation Scotland distributes the Plains Community Fund. However if the area of focus is one of the other communities you need to contact that local administrator directly. Please see below for how to apply.
