Kinglassie Community Awards: A Forward-Thinking Approach
The Nadara Westfield Kinglassie fund decision-making Panel has demonstrated its commitment to supporting community groups through its ‘Distributing Differently’ approach, going beyond traditional grantmaking by undertaking panel-led decisions that recognise and reward groups delivering continued and significant impact to the village of Kinglassie.
In the most recent award round in September 2025, the Panel demonstrated its forward-thinking grant administration approach by taking proactive steps to ensure continuity of community services. Recognising that the Mitchell Hall Resource Centre's multi-year funding was approaching its end, the Panel agreed to award another three-year funding package, re-affirming their commitment to long-term community support.
Understanding the challenges posed by the current cost of living crisis, the Panel not only renewed the Mitchell Hall Resource Centre's funding but also uplifted the original award by £500 each year to help address increased running costs. The new three-year award totals £6,000, reflecting the Panel's recognition of both the Centre's important role in the community and the economic pressures facing local organisations.
Kinglassie Primary School Parent Council Recognised for Community Contribution
The Panel also acknowledged the significant time and contribution that Kinglassie Primary School Parent Council has made to both the wider community and the young people of Kinglassie. In recognition of their ongoing hard work, the Panel agreed to make a one-off donation of £1,000 to the Parent Council.
This award has been thoughtfully structured to maximise impact: £500 will contribute towards a Christmas treat for pupils, bringing joy to local children during the festive season, while the remaining £500 will support a project that benefits the Parent Council and underpins the Fund's broader community priorities.
Proactive Community Investment
These awards illustrate the Nadara Westfield Kinglassie Panel's proactive approach to community investment, ensuring that essential services continue without interruption while also recognising new opportunities to support local groups making a difference in the village.
The Panel's ‘Distributing Differently’ philosophy continues to demonstrate how thoughtful, forward-planning grant administration can provide stability and growth opportunities for community organisations, ultimately benefiting all residents of Kinglassie.
