New fund in Cockburnspath and Cove Community Council area - panel members wanted

A new Cockburnspath and Cove Community Fund will support community projects benefiting those living in the Cockburnspath & Cove Community Council area. A Panel of local residents will guide how the Fund works and make decisions about what will be funded.

The new Fund will bring together community benefit funding from a range of local wind farms to make it easier for local groups to access funding, and to have more impact locally.

The decision-making Panel will be made up of people who take an interest in local community issues and activities in Cockburnspath and Cove and people who are keen to make a real difference in their community.

The fund, which will open in September 2024, will provide grants to support charitable activities that:

  • Enhance the quality of life for local residents
  • Contribute to vibrant, healthy, successful and sustainable communities
  • Promote community spirit and encourage community activity

The grants will provide support for a wide range of costs, for example, the costs of equipment, staff or sessional workers, consultations, running costs for local groups, maintenance or refurbishment of community facilities, and more.

Cockburnspath and Cove Community Council already have a Fund in place provided by Foresight Kinegar Wind Farm Community Fund (Cockburnspath) which supports community projects benefiting those living in Cockburnspath & Cove Community Council area in the Scottish Borders.

The new Fund will provide even more opportunities for local community groups, organisations and the communities residents to progress projects and make transformative change within the area.
