Purpose of this fund

Following a fund review, Carrick Futures Trustees has decided to focus on supporting children, young people and families with the aim of tackling inequalities and providing benefits to families from the area. With this in mind, the fund has launched a pilot Health in Pregnancy initiative and is now offering people in their third trimester of pregnancy who live in the community council areas of Ballantrae, Colmonell & Lendalfoot, Barr, Barrhill, Dailly, Pinmore & Pinwherry or Girvan & District a grant of £250 to support them with their health and wellbeing.

More information on the fund can be found on the Carrick Futures website.

Who can apply?

An individual grant of £250 will be available on evidence of residency (in the form of your Council Tax Notice) and your Mat B1 form. If you don’t have a Council Tax Notice please contact us. This grant is limited to women who are resident in the designated area of fund benefit only, which is Ballantrae, Colmonell & Lendalfoot, Barr, Barrhill, Dailly, Pinmore & Pinwherry or Girvan & District. We will contact people receiving grants in the months following an award to ask how the money helped and what is was used for.

What can’t be funded?

The grant should be used to support you in your last trimester of pregnancy. This might be buying equipment, clothes or nappies for the baby, paying for an antenatal class, buying pregnancy vitamins or healthy food – whatever you identify as providing you with financial support in relation to getting ready for the baby (or babies) arriving. We will ask you how you used your grant so we can find out how effective this new fund is and whether the pilot will be continued.

How are decisions made?

Applications are processed on the basis of meeting the eligibility criteria.

Carrick Futures is run by its voluntary Board of Trustees and has appointed Foundation Scotland to administer the fund and support the Board. Foundation Scotland receives and checks all applications and supporting documents for the Carrick Futures - Health in Pregnancy grant.
