09 June 2016

The Caledonian Challenge has been on a long journey. First conceived back in Hong Kong by founder Angus Tim _Winterburn _Caley _Challenge _2013-64MacDonald, it can now claim to be Scotland’s longest running endurance event, some 20 years on.

Since then, the Challenge has grown from strength to strength and is now recognised as one of the UK’s premier outdoor charity events. Over the years, almost 20,000 walkers have laced up their boots, faced the Scottish midges and experienced this amazing endurance event raising millions of pounds to support the work of Foundation Scotland.

This Saturday after months of training and fundraising over 700 people will be at the start line to begin their journey walking 54 miles in 24 hours or 24 miles in 12 hours through some of Scotland’s most iconic scenery.

Giles Ruck CEO of Foundation Scotland added,” We look forward to seeing many familiar faces back again on this special anniversary year to take one of Scotland’s toughest endurance events. And a special welcome to lots of new teams raising funds for Foundation Scotland or joining us for the first time to raise funds their own charities. Good luck!”
