Fourteen Celebration at Scottish Parliament

03 June 2016

The achievements of the Spirit of 2012 Trust’s Fourteen programme in Scotland was celebrated at the Scottish Spirit Collage WebsiteParliament yesterday. Foundation Scotland’s Communities Team who deliver the programme alongside community members had the opportunity to share their experiences and aspirations for Fourteen with MSPs over lunch, providing a great opportunity to tell the stories of Fourteen and showcase the impact on a local level.

The first year has been a great success.  The communities have embraced the challenge and are working towards creating better connected, more inclusive communities, where people are inspired and able to contribute to make a difference.

Individuals and groups, across the six communities, are using their skills, talents and gifts to take action and build upon the strengths within to extend the reach and legacy of the 2014 Glasgow Commonwealth Games building relationships and increasing wellbeing.

The six communities in Scotland are; Gorbals, Ruchill/Possilpark and The Calton in Glasgow; Dumbiedykes in Edinburgh; Caithness and Islay and Jura.

Funding for the programme comes from The Spirit of 2012 Trust.
