Celebrating 25 years as Scotland's community foundation

  • Date published: 30/11/21

Today, on St Andrew's Day, we celebrate Foundation Scotland's 25th birthday. Sharing our special day with the patron saint for Scotland could not be more apt. St Andrew was known for his desire to help those less fortunate and offer help to those needing direction. The same could be said for everyone we've had the privilege of working with since we were established in 1996.

We want to thank our donors, whose generosity has enabled us to distribute over £130 million to some incredible charitable organisations, social enterprises, and grassroots community groups across the country.

And we'd like to thank the thousands of organisations we've been able to support each year. You, your volunteers, support workers, carers, service managers, development officers, key workers… everyone, for working tirelessly to help the members of your community.

Collectively, we've achieved so much over the past 25 years. We are helping to build stronger and more resilient communities across Scotland.

Giving Tuesday logoIf the national day of Scotland and our 25th birthday are not enough reasons to celebrate, it's also Giving Tuesday - a global day of giving! A day where everyone, everywhere, can do something to support the good causes and communities that mean so much to them. A day to celebrate and encourage giving in all its forms.
