
The Union Square Giving Back Project has been set up to celebrate the importance of community.
Foundation Scotland are inviting local charities and constituted organisations to apply for one of 10 grants of £2,000 each.
The programme will be awarding 10 grants of £2,000 to support the work of registered charities or constituted groups who work in one of the following priority areas :

Food bank support and tackling food poverty

Providing support services to people affected by domestic violence and abuse

Supporting those who are homeless or rough sleeping
-
Providing employment opportunities, enterprise or skills development
Applications will be accepted from registered charities and/or constituted groups delivering projects in the following geographical areas: AB10, AB11, AB12, AB15, AB16, AB21, AB22, AB23, AB24 and AB25 only.
Eligibility Checklist
Before you proceed, please ensure that you can answer YES to the following questions:

Have you provided a copy of your constitution or other governing document alongside your application?

Do you have at least 3 members on your management committee or board?

Do you have independently examined and verified annual accounts or a projection of income and expenduture? (a projection is only appropriate if you are in your first year of operation)

Do you have a bank account in the name of your group?

Do you have at least two unrelated cheque signatories required to sign your group's cheques?

So you have a child and vulnerable adult policy? (If you work/intend to work with vulnerable adults/children you will need to provide this with your application.)
The fund will not support applications from/for:
-
Projects starting before 1st December 2020
-
Projects taking place outside the stated areas
-
Statutory organisations
-
Work in schools, during school/lesson hours
-
Individuals
-
Costs already incurred or activities which will take place before we have made a decision on funding (retrospective funding)
-
Trips abroad
-
The purchase of second hand vehicles
-
General fundraising appeals or activities
-
Projects which are mainly for the advancement of religion or politics
-
Projects which do not benefit people in Scotland
Completed applications, with supporting documents, must be received by 12noon on Friday 30th October.
This programme may close earlier than the stated deadline should we receive a high volume of applications therefore we advise you to apply as soon as you can.
Please note that if your project starts before the 1st December 2020, then you cannot apply.
